Wind Option Agreement UpdateDan Hemmingsen and Missy Kelley signed on with National Wind last summer to coordinate landowner participation in the High Country Energy project. As field specialists, Dan and Missy were excited to involve local landowners in this development. Hemmingsen and Kelley have worked closely with landowners over the last six to seven months, and have made great progress. To date, 64 landowners have signed wind option agreements, amounting to 12,185 acres of land. This accounts for 5, 132 acres from Olmsted County and 7, 053 acres from Dodge County. Hemmingsen and Kelley continue to gain interest from landowners in High Country Energy’s project area. They have enjoyed working collaboratively with landowners in the footprint and will continue to expand their efforts throughout the project area. “High Country Energy is interested in knowing what is important to landowners and we encourage open communication,” says Kelley. “We care about landowners’ concerns and we want to build a positive relationship with them.” To accomplish this, Advisory Board meetings are held to discuss wind option progress and other project news. Hemmingsen and Kelley are happy to discuss available wind options with landowners in the project’s footprint. Landowners who sign up with High Country Energy and have an interest in becoming more involved, should express this interest to either Missy or Dan. |
